Walking along the flower bordered sidewalk
A warm sun streaming down
The regret of not taking the plunge
For not baring my soul to him
It had been the perfect ambience
For soul rendering confessions of adoration
During those soft velvet moments
After the sweetest lovemaking this side of heaven
Locked in each others arms
Bodies slick with perspiration
Hearts thundering like a spring storm
I had tried to muster courage that I didn't have
But I could feel
The rise of the invisible barrier
The seconds roll into the next
The moment passed
The words gone unspoken...
